Diane loves anything that keeps her smiling. This includes small puppies, big local blooms, and a good conversation. Her days at Bowerbird Flowers & Apothecary are filled with client interactions, vendor relations, and tracking down the best of the best in product. Diane’s Secret talent is being up with the floral trends and knowing just where to find a specific flower. Her favorite flowers are off-beat tulips, bearded iris, and not your average roses.
As the founder of Bowerbird Flowers & Apothecary | Durham Florist & Flower Delivery, Diane launched the business with a vision: floral arrangements should highlight the beauty and character of each individual bloom. This philosophy stands in contrast to more conventional approaches to floral design. In order to learn the trade Diane trained with Sarah Ryhanen of Saipua based in Brooklyn, NY in 2014. From there she has continued her lessons since by taking classes with well known designers such as Ponderosa & Thyme, Love’n fresh Flowers, and Bows & Arrows Flowers.
