About

Bowerbird designers use flowers as their paint and your world as their canvas.

Bowerbird’s designs are meant to stir your emotions, evoke precious memories, and connect recipients more closely to the natural world. Whimsical and modern, but grounded in a timeless beauty and elegance, a Bowerbird creation will stand out against the typical flowers you come across online. Locally-based, but globally-focused, the company is proud to support North Carolina farmers by sourcing material as seasonally possible.

Diane Joyal,

founder/lead designer

Diane loves anything that keeps her smiling. This includes small puppies, big local blooms, and a good conversation. Her days at Bowerbird are filled with client interactions, vendor relations, and tracking down the best of the best in product. Diane’s Secret talent is being up with the floral trends and knowing just where to find a specific flower. Her favorite flowers are off-beat tulips, bearded iris, and not your average roses.

As the Founder of Bowerbird, Diane started the business with the idea that arrangements should be created to showcase what each individual bloom can do. This concept is a contrast to typical traditional floral designers. In order to learn the trade Diane trained with Sarah Ryhanen of Saipua based in Brooklyn, NY in 2014. From there she has continued her lessons since by taking classes with well known designers such as Ponderosa & Thyme, Love’n fresh Flowers, and Bows & Arrows Flowers.
